Giving is Contagious
Giving is contagious. You feel happy when you make people feel happy. Being kind is easy. Smiling is better for your face than frowning. And one of the easiest ways to make you happy, make you smile and be kind, all at once, is to give to charity.
Giving Tuesday, the biggest charitable day has just passed us and here at TFS Healthcare we always want to do more to give back. We care about people; we care about you. We choose our charities based on what is important to us and what causes need us the most. We are not constrained to one cause; how can you be when all are equally as important?
Our employees and directors actively take part in their own charity fundraising events, whether that be running, walking, swimming or even growing a moustache. We have a great network of people who love to see each other succeed and ultimately support each other. Our team love to really commit to helping people in a less fortunate position than our own. We care about our employees and their personal life is as important to us as their work life. How can you have one without the other?
Some of our very own consultants take part in their own charity fundraising, outside of work, which of course we support and encourage. Tom, one of our consultants, recently took part in a in an almost FIFTY FOUR mile bike ride, all the way from Cambridge to London bridge, raising money for the charity Mind – which helps support individuals suffering with mental health challenges and disorders. Tom also has more plans for 2022 to support the charity Calm – which is a charity that “Campaigns Against Living Miserably” standing together to show that life is worth living!
Every November, our Commercial Director Roland Sheehan, takes part in Movember to help raise money and awareness for men’s health and Prostate Cancer UK. Roland always adds his own personal spin on his charity work and this year has worn shorts and grown a tache throughout the entire month of November!! Its fairly cold outside to be honest, so good work Ro! In total (so far), he has managed to raise £1750, with an initial target of just £1500. Movember is a particularly important one to Roland and generally that’s why people choose the charities they do, as they have some personal importance! Roland can be seen with a representative from Prostate Cancer UK, in the photo above, after an office talk, outlining the importance of staying informed!
In 2022, we’re looking forward to supporting some great charities which will hopefully impact someone’s life for the better. With the pandemic and pressures faced by the NHS, whatever the problem, many people are struggling to receive appointments, treatment and support usually offered by the NHS. Here at TFS, we feel there is no better time to donate, it could change someone’s life.
Not too sure what charity you’d like to support?
The most recent two years have been difficult on everyone, in very different ways. Some people have experienced the word “difficult” more so than others. As a company, working directly with healthcare professionals, who are working on covid wards, treating patients and being the families first point of contact, we understand how hard our NHS and agency healthcare professionals have worked!
Here is a link to a charity, formally known as HEROES, now known as Healthcare Workers’ Foundation. https://healthcareworkersfoundation.org/ this charity was created during the height of the COVID-19 crisis, with the aim to “support the welfare and wellbeing of those fighting to keep the public healthy and safe during COVID-19, and beyond”.
Another platform used to raise money is Go Fund Me. They have written a short blog outlining the “25 Best Charities to Donate to in the UK”, read more here: https://www.gofundme.com/en-gb/c/blog/best-uk-charities-to-donate-to
This year we have chosen several charities to support, using platforms such as “Just Giving” to raise funds internally and externally. We understand that choosing a charity is always a very personable thing, whilst we will still choose charities that are close to us, we pride ourselves on doing our best to support our community, whether it be for a local or global cause. We are also always looking for innovative ways to give back! If you have a different and innovative way that you have volunteered or given back, we would love to hear about it! You can email us at info@tfshealthcare.co.uk telling us about your story.
